So at the half way point I stopped reading and purchased another book and read it because at that point I was so done with Velaney. Eric earned his Saint hood in dealing with her messed up mind. I was however glad that I finished the book and she becomes a somewhat normal person again.

The overall story was good and I loved Eric.

Just when I think I couldn't love Brooke Cumberland's books anymore, she hits us with BURN (Spark #2)! Holy Crap this book is amazing! I loved Eric and Velaney in Spark, and loved them even more in Burn!

This book had a lot of ups and downs for these characters, and a few times you're like "will they make it?" but this story was a perfect end for Velaney and Eric. The love they share for each other is so amazing, and real. A few times during this book I was in tears. Some of the trials that Eric and Velaney go through really hit home, going through something similar myself, and the way Brooke handled the situation, and the pain, was all too real, and told exactly like someone who has gone through it or understands. She did that part of the story (sorry, no spoilers) total justice, and even though it was hard to read, was dead on and written beautifully.

We get to see more of Eric's past in BURN and he's not all rainbows and butterflies either, which is why I think these two are perfect for each other. Having someone in your life who understands that sometimes your past is not perfect, and haunts you and loves you unconditionally still is a beautiful thing, and again Brooke told this beautifully.

I loved this story so much! The heartbreak, the craziness, the WTF moments, and most of all the relationship of Eric and Velaney was just amazing. I'm sad to see their story end, but it was perfect. Love isn't always easy, but when you find that person that will stick with you through anything, you hold on tight, even when it's hard. In this story these characters find this out, and it's going to take a few to get this one out of my head.

If you haven't read Spark, you are missing out! Eric and Velaney's story is one of the best stories I've read in a long time, and I encourage all of you to pick it up. This is one series you will not regret reading. It has it all! Just make sure you have some time to read, because you won't want to put these books down. This series is one of the top series I've read this year and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

4 Vibrating Ring Stars....

Burn is a high intensity story that has you loving sweet Velaney one moment and then screaming at her to pull her head out of her ass. Burn picks up right where Spark left off. It was creepy at times, it made angry, it left my jaw on your ground and left my heart swooning.

Someone call 9-11 because there was a fire in my kindle and it was started by Eric! He's perfect... really in every way. Besides the total swoon factor the bedroom scenes were H-O-T. To the point where I think my next stop is the store - for a new toy!

Velaney has some damn good reasons for running. If it were me, I'd probably hide in my closet and never come out but Velaney is strong, stronger than she thinks. I truly believe that God doesn't put anything in front of you that you can't handle. Watching Valaney struggle day after day broke my heart but knowing she had the love of Eric and her bestie, Clarrissa by her side made each chapter that much more

Just when I thought... here comes the happily ever after, Brooke Cumberland throws in a twist, then another and another. I found myself thinking, Brooke give the girl a break!

You not only will fall in love with each character in the Spark series but you will find that you will be along time Brooke Cumberland fan.
Burn is in Eric's POV which is great.

Burn picks up where Spark left off. I love a book where there isn't a big time gap.
In Burn we learn more about Eric and what drives him to be a fireman. How he truly feels for Velaney. We learn about his friend ships with his cousin's and how they fell through. It is very emotional I believe.

Eric and Velaney's relationship is rocky in this story, only because Velaney runs away instead of talking it out. Aidan, Velaney's brother shows back up and it is sickening what he does. I don't want to give to much away but, have you seen the movie My Sister's Keeper? Yeah part of this book reminds me of that. Don't get me wrong this book still has it's hot sex.

I couldn't put this book down. I wanted to hurry up and finish just to see how Eric and Velaney's story went. But the closer I got to the end I didn't want it to end.
Eric's family is the best. They treated Velaney like she was already apart of their family. Something she always wanted. Velaney does talk more about her religious background. How she feels she needs to help her family because if she doesn't how God might look down on her. Eric doesn't see it that way. With all the crap she went through growing up why should she help her family out. Then Eric and Velaney suffer a great loss and this questions her faith. But like I said the situation with Velaney and her family reminds me of that movie. You have to read the book to get it. I can go on and on, but I don't want to give to much away.

Does Velaney and Eric stay together? What kind of loss did they suffer? Oh and we see that Carissa meets a guy. Yup can't wait to read about that. I am telling you...you have to read this series especially if you want to read about hot fireman.
