I couldn't finish. The main character Caylee, is an idiot. She is reckless, selfish, arrogant, and just plain stupid. Her male counterpart Haden is the only reason I made it to 50%.

She refuses to be protected even though she can't protect herself. She should have tons of questions, but yet she asks none. Since she doesn't, the reader is as clueless as she is. The author makes no amends for this. She is constantly in danger and 99% of the time it's her fault. She doesn't care about ghouls, vampires, dragons or anything else besides her personal feelings.

Now the story...The author just jumps right in and loses you at the beginning. You sort of have to find your way to the plot and even then you can't be sure. Caylee is Haden's mate. He has been in a platonic relationship with her for a year as her protector and guardian. He must protect her due to her mortal status until he can make her immortal. However due to a recent trauma he is trying to give her time before he has to kill her to give her immortality. Nice set up right? it could have been great but it's choppy and the flow isn't natural. When you see someone turn into a dragon, you should have questions.

The character development is almost non existent. You will find out next to nothing about how the main characters know each other, how the villain plays into the story, where the fiance came from, why does she stay with her uncle, how old is she..etc.

There are countless questions, 100 ft leaps in character development, and a jumbled plot. Happy reading:)

The book is a real loser, and I am slogging through it only because I read a later one first. The writer really needs to learn proper word usage, and to heavily edit her work. There are dropped words, incorrect sentence structures, and at least one word that i am sure should have been another similar one that would have fit the sentence better. Don't bother with this unless you want some background for future books in her series.
So, Haden is, well, just yummy. He's a sexy, immortal demon, who shifts into a dragon. He's completely in love with Caylee, his mate, though she doesn't know it. Caylee refuses to trust Haden, due to her past. Haden is so damn sweet and patient with Caylee, even though she spends most of the story pushing him away. I found myself wanting to shake her and yell give in already, lol.

There's also non stop action going on in this story. It is woven into the love story seamlessly. The secondary characters are hilarious as well. I love Mia and Joseph. Their antics made me laugh.

Suspense, fighting, drama, red-hot passion, you name it, this book has it. How hot is it to have a super Dragon-Demon loving you and fighting your battles as well as fighting for mankind?! And that eternal breath of immortality--absolutely stunning! I would like to have seen more to the story--it seemed short and sweet. Caylee was a brat but that did not hurt the story too much. I would have liked to see her a little tougher rather than so whiny even though she was emotionally damaged. I am giving this book 5 stars and encourage you to read it! I will definitely be reading more from this author!
This book was way more than I expected! Caylee has no idea what she wants in life even when she meets the man of her dreams. Definitely not a YA book, had me blushing at times and saying Oh My! Very steamy scenes with Haden that had me drooling. I even cried when I got to a certain part that I got so wrapped up in this book. I must say, this book isn't for everyone. So might think Caylee goes back and forth too much but you know, some people are just like that. That is what makes her character so unique! Love it and would read it again. I can't wait to read more!
Love the storyline. But it was hard at first to read bc it felt like I was starting on book two instead of book one. Caylee's past is important but the writer only hints at it until the middle of the book. So it was frustrating.
There are typos especially with pronouns that can confuse some people. But I love the idea and will continue to read the series.
I think a quarter-half of the book was full of passive aggressive dealings between the male and female leads. It was amusing at first and then it got old and I started to get frustrated and then angry.

I almost stopped reading, because I couldn't take it anymore and then finally the leads did the deed and I screamed "HALLELUJAH" and the story continued to develop from that point on.

I loved all the supporting characters introduced and really enjoyed the mini love story that developed between two of the supporting character's and learning more about another supporting character's character. I am a fan and I'm ready for more.
Four stars because of how the story was told. Following Hayden as he tries to win the love and trust of his mate, Caylee, while her best friend, Mia, protects her viciously.

I liked that this story had a lot of twists and turns. Four woman as close as sisters and a few have certain abilities; this fact is what will make the next book a little more interesting. Mia doesn't know it yet but instead of having just one man after her, she will have two; and they are both Alpha's in there own right.

Because of the way Haden courted Caylee, she finally learns to trust what she has with Hayden. But will the vampire, Paul, that is obsessed with Caylee win in the end or will Hayden be able to save her? In order for Haden to save Caylee, his love forher must be stronger than his natural instincts.

Having a new twist on demons and the characters that are portrayed in this book is what drew my attention; the subtle way the other characters were given life, the pain and fear that I could feel from Caylee, and the cliffhanger ending is what kept me reading.

If you're looking for a good read involving alpha males and strong women needing to overcome their pasts to find eternal love, than this book is for you.
