I am so amazed every time I read books by my fave authors and this anthology is no different.
Most of the authors in this collection I've read and loved, including Ceci Giltenan, Sue-Ellen Welfonder, Suzan Tisdale, Lily Baldwin, Tarah Scott. New authors for me Kate Robbins and Kathryn Lynn-Davis.
This is a great read from beginning to the end. I laughed, I cried, I got mad and I got so sad, tears welled up in my eyes, but what they have in common beside the happy endings is the heroes and heroines, despite the hardships and the obstacles thrown their way, are good souls, honorable and brave warriors that protect their loved ones.
Looking forward to Volume 2.
I fully recommend you pick this up for hours of enjoyment, also because the authors are donating a portion of the royalties from the sale of all e-books to the Cancer Research Institute.

Highland Winds Scrolls of Cridhe Five Hundred Years of Scottish Romance edition by Suzan Tisdale SueEllen Welfonder Kathryn Lynn Davis Lily Baldwin Ceci Giltenan Kate Robbins Tarah Scott Romance eBooks Reviews

Highland Revenge by Ceci Giltenan 3/5. This is an interesting story of overcoming preconceived ideas and grudges, all wrapped up in a nice love story. One of my favorite authors.

The Taming of Mairi MacKenzie by Sue-Ellen Welfonder 3.5/5 Mairi lives hidden away because her village has accused her of witchcraft. A battle-hardened, down-hearted Highlander seeks her for the healing skills she is said to possess.

Stealing Moirra's Heart by Suzan Tisdale 4.5/5. Moirra needs a husband to help with the harvest and she needs him now. She finds one in the pillory. Be careful what you wish for.

Spirit Stones by Kate Robbins 3.5/5. A captor/captive story (not my favorite) and the girl can hear spirits who wish to speak to her.

A Tear for Memory by Kathryn Lynn Davis 4.5/5 An unusual telling of the tensions that existed in the aftermath of the Forty-Five. Legends, spies, secrets, love betrayed, love renewed, art as a window to the truth. Fascinating story.

A Jewel in the Vaults by Lily Baldwin 4.5/5. A girl grows up as a boy in the slums of Edinburgh. A Highlander requests his/her assistance to find his brother who is thought to be there as well. A story of survival, self-sacrifice, and love. My favorite in this collection.

Lord Grayson's Bride by Tarah Scott 3.5/5. A convoluted story of betrothal, blackmail, love postponed, highway robbery, all at festive country house party.

All 7 novellas are terrific! Well written, good stories, and romance to die for. My favourite story was 'Stealing Moira's Heart' as it was a big departure from magnificent knight, princes, kings, and debonair, gothic heroes.

Moira is in her early 30s with 4 children -- daughters all. She has, unfortunately, become a kind of Black Widow as she has lost 3 husbands. Needing help with her small acreage of crops, and sheep, she goes into town in search of a husband.

John Pilori is also in his 30s (late) but he is the 3rd son of a laird. He has become a drunkard, and a rakehall, and apparently a thief. Agreeing to Moira's proposal of a marriage of convenience, it seems that is the end of it. John falls not only in love with Moira but each of her daughters, hard work, an end to drink, and having a family to call his own.

Each of the stories are gems, and this is a worthy collection to own. Buy it in order to support the authors, and the wonderful Cancer Research Institute.
This book highland winds is compiled of seven novellas by seven romance authors and a great way to try these authors if you haven’t read them before or if you just enjoy all the authors. Each story is wonderful and I enjoyed reading all of them and getting to try a taste of some old and new to me authors. I do hope that all of these authors write more stories like this. Overall I rate the entire set four stars.
Highland Revenge by Ceci Giltenan is the story of a the strong brash handsome highlander hero Eion Mackay who takes revenge on the MacNichols and is captured and placed in the MacNichols dungeon. Fortunately someone takes pity on Eoin and he is set free by a young gawky lad named Finn. Eion is able to take his revenge on the beautiful spirited heroine Fiona MacNichol’s by capturing her. I have several of Ms. Giltenan’s books and just haven’t gotten around to reading them but after reading this novella it really makes me want to read all that she writes. I loved the way Ms. Giltenan tells a story and her characters are just very developed. I just kept wondering what happens to Bram Sutherland I at first didn’t like him but he was just such a good guy. What about Anna does she ever get married? What about Tasgall and Aiden do they also get married too? I guess in a sense I wasn’t ready for the story to be over. Even though I wondered about several characters I rated the story four stars.
The taming of Mairi MacKenzie by Sue-Ellen Welfonder is the story of a broken handsome warrior Sir Gare MacTaggert who comes to the glen of winds looking for the mysterious beautiful cursed banshee heroine Mairi Mackenzie in the glen of winds to cure him so he can wed. I haven’t read any of Ms. Welfonder’s stories but after reading this I will definitely purchase and read more from her. The only thing I did wish was to learn the back story of Duncan and his wife but otherwise the novella was good. I rated the novella four stars
Stealing Moirra’s heart by Suzan Tisdale is a story of a beautiful widow three times and heroine Moirra sees a locked up handsome stranger and hero known as John so Moirra offers marriage to John. I really enjoy the stories that Ms. Tisdale writes. I have read several of her books and definitely will get more books of hers. I do hope that Ms Tisdale writes all the daughters stories eventually. I was a little upset though with the somewhat cliff-hanger ending but I still enjoyed the story. I rated the novella four stars.
Spirit stones by Kate Robbins is a story of the beautiful heroine Sheona who has a very special girt but is captured can she use her gift to save herself. I have a few of Ms. Robbins books and have only read one but I do like the way Ms. Robbins is able to tell an enjoyable story and rated the novella four stars.
A tear for memory by Kathryn Lynn Davis is a story of the beautiful innocent naïve heroine Celia is protected from all things until she meets the mysterious handsome hero Alexander. Celia not only sees things but is an accomplished painter. The story was a little bit confusing and seemed a little bit all over the place. Celia’s name kept changing from Caelia to Celia and the betrayals could have been explained a little bit better and clearer but I still enjoyed the story and rated it four stars.
A jewel in the vaults by Lily Baldwin was probably my favorite story out of the novellas. The beautiful cautious heroine Robbie conceals herself dressing as a young lad but in meeting the handsome noble chivalrous hero Conall who is looking for his brother puts Robbie at risk. I do hope Ms. Baldwin writes about Davis because I really would like to hear his story. I enjoyed this novella and rated it five stars.
Lord Grayson’s bride by Tarah Scott is the story of a headstrong beautiful heroine Josephine and the arrogant handsome hero Nicholas who let Josephine go but would not make the same mistake twice. This story also had some confusing parts to it and I think needed to be explained a little bit better but I still liked the story I still rated the novella four stars. I think what I really liked is the very beautiful cover more so than the story.
